Nothing’s worse than having picky eaters right? I have 2 children who are picky eaters and when they were small I used to cook 2 separate meals…yes 2 (that’s a meal for me and the husband and a meal for them)! I literally spent hours in the kitchen (imagine this, cooking bolognese for them and then curry for me and my husband etc etc). Trust me, that was not my idea of fun. It’s natural for parents to worry about whether their child is getting enough food, especially if they refuse to eat sometimes.

The best way for your child to learn to eat and enjoy new foods is to copy you. Try to eat with them as often as you can so that you can set a good example and give your child the same food as the rest of the family. This is exactly what we adapted in my house and  it worked wonders. Yes it was hard at the start but we got there in the end. They started eating what me and my husband ate and I just introduced them to different kinds of food and whenever they ate it or even at least tried it, I gave them lots and lots of praise and sometimes a reward (it was either a trip to the park or their favourite indoor play area). With the help of different cooking books, being consistent and perseverance both my picky eaters started trying out new foods and now they are not as picky as they used to be.

Below you will find some dinner recipes that the whole family will enjoy and some healthy meals for picky eaters. Most of the meals here have simple recipes that are easy to follow and cook.

I will also be sharing some Filipino dishes. Filipino food is by far still my most favourite cuisine. Every now and then, I cook some of my favourites that my Mom cooks. Living in England has made me miss Filipino foods and my Mom’s cooking very much. Cooking Filipino cuisines means that it’s like being back home 🙂
